A Christmas Candles Children’s Story
Once upon a time, in a small snowy village, lived a curious boy named Luke. On a chilly Christmas Eve, he noticed the beautiful candles glowing warmly in every house, including his own.
He turned to his grandfather and asked, “Grandpa, why do we light candles on Christmas?” Smiling, his grandfather explained, “Luke, these aren’t just any candles.
These are Christmas candles, and they’re very special. Each one tells a part of the Christmas story.”
Pointing to the glowing candle in their window, he said, “This candle symbolizes the light of Christ, which guides us through life’s darkest times, just as the Star of Bethlehem guided the Wise Men to baby Jesus.”
Luke’s eyes widened in amazement as he looked at the candle with newfound understanding. His grandfather continued, “The warm light of these candles represents the warmth and love of God, reminding us of the comfort we find in Him.
The festive smell? It brings joy and celebration into our homes.” He then gestured to a small, solitary candle. “And this one is for remembrance. We light it in memory of loved ones who are celebrating Christmas in heaven.”
Finally, his grandfather motioned to the beautiful candles on their dining table. “And these candles, Luke, unite us as a family.
As we share our Christmas dinner, their light reminds us of the community and togetherness that Jesus taught us to cherish.” Luke listened, taking in every word.
That night, as he fell asleep to the soft glow of the Christmas candles, he felt a deep sense of peace and love. From then on, each candle’s glow meant more to Luke than just light; it symbolized guidance, love, remembrance, celebration, and unity.
In their flickering light, he found the true essence of Christmas – the story of Jesus Christ and His love for us.
