In Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus discussed the power of prayer when he said: “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be lost in heaven.
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
There are plenty of scenarios in the Bible where Jesus and his disciples battled in prayer. For example, God parted the sea for Moses and stopped the rain from falling for three whole years at the request of Elijah.
On top of this, Jesus aided the sick, healed the blind, and even brought the dead back to life.
With that being said, many of us do not realize the power at our disposal. If everybody knew just how powerful God is, the whole world would be sure to pray more.
However, a lot of people fall into the trap of only praying when they need or want something.

God will always answer your prayers. In John 16:23-24, Jesus says to us: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name.”
Even when we lack faith and pray for strength, God hears our prayers. In these instances, He encourages us to believe in his power. Some people pray using repetitions.
However, the Bible speaks against this, saying that God hears our needs and wants before we even speak of them.
It is important to note that the power of prayer does not originate in the person praying. Instead, the power comes from an open heart and confidence in God.
When we truly accept the Holy Spirit, we learn to pray according to his will instead of our own. You will then understand what all He does for you and that no prayer truly goes unanswered.

When we allow God into our lives, it becomes much easier to understand that God’s plan is much bigger than our own.
While we may think that we know what is best for us, our creator has a purpose for each of our lives.
