Sharing is caring!

Military boots and clothing

As Christians, we are called to pray for our troops. They face many dangers and challenges while serving our country, and they need our prayers more than ever.

Here is a collection of prayers that you can use to pray for our troops in the military. May God bless them and keep them safe!

Prayers for Our Troops

Some U.S. military bases have chapels for Christians. Here, soldiers can practice their faith similar to a regular church.

Before deployment, many Christian troops visit the chapel to pray and meet their spiritual needs. Here are some prayers for military troops:

-Dear Lord, we lift our troops in the military to you. They are risking their lives to protect us and our freedom, and we are so grateful. We ask that you would watch over them and keep them safe.

Please give them strength, courage, and wisdom as they serve. We also pray for their families who are waiting at home.

-Jesus, we know that you are the Prince of Peace. We pray for your peace to rule in the hearts of our troops. May they know your presence and peace amid battle.

We also pray for their families, that they would experience your peace and comfort during this time.

-Father God, we thank you for our troops in the military. We ask that you would bless them and their families. Please give them strength, courage, wisdom, and protection.

We also pray for those who are injured or sick. Please heal them and bring them home safely to their families. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Lord, we know that you are with our troops in the military. It’s hard to know what peace is during a raging war. Please take care of my son, he is very precious to me and I want him back this Christmas.

I also want to pray for the others who are serving with him. Please be with them and give them strength, courage, and hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Father, let there be peace in the enemy’s heart, so that our troops may come home. We know you can change anyone’s heart, no matter how set they are in their ways.

Please open the door for peace and bring an end to this war. You taught us to love our enemies, but sometimes it seems impossible to do so. Give us the strength to be calm in the eye of the storm and seek your wisdom.

A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

-Please Jesus, allow my husband to come back home safe from the military. He is serving our country and I am so proud of him. Please keep him safe from all harm and danger.

I love him so much and I miss him terribly. Please bring him home to me soon. His sons and daughters are always asking me when he’s coming back home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

– Merciful God, my daughter finished boot camp in the military and is going to another country during war times. Please shine your light on her, and give her all the protection she needs to make it through her military years.

I never approved of joining the military, but she was determined to see it through. Today I ask you to keep her safe from harm and bring her back home soon, Amen.

-Dear Lord, I say these prayers to our troops in the military to give them hope during dark times. Let them understand that war is not the way of life, but a stone in their path.

Give them the courage to face the enemy and do what must be done to end the war. I pray for their families at home, that they would know the peace of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

– Heavenly Father, I pray that our military leaders have strong faith in you and they use their wisdom to guide our troops to victory. Give them spiritual power to help them think with their hearts, not their guns.

It’s easier to pull the trigger than to shake someone’s hand and forgive their mistakes. Help bring this war to an end soon so my heart can be at peace, Amen.

-Lord Jesus, my son is a casualty of war. I pray that he will be the last. Please bring an end to this fighting and let there be peace on earth. I know my son is in a better place, but I still miss him terribly.

If you see him, please let him know I still love him and I will always be there for him. Please help me to cope with my loss and give me the strength to go on. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Dear Father, I’m in the Army now, something that I wanted for a long time. But my dad has passed away while I was on military duty. There are no words to describe the pain I’m going through right now.

My dad was our family leader and best friend, I miss him so much but I can’t go home right now. Please father in heaven, I pray that you take care of my dad until it’s my turn to leave this world, Amen.

-Dear Lord, please take care of my sister, she is in the Army. There was bad weather news that a tornado was headed towards her base camp. Please let her know that I am praying for her safety.

And if it is your will, please let the tornado detour. I love my sister and I don’t want anything to happen to her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-My father is in the Army and he’s been deployed to a war zone. Please, God, keep him safe and bring him back home to us.

My mother is having a hard time dealing with this, as she’s never been away from him for more than a few weeks. Please give her the strength to get through this and please let my father come back to us safe and sound. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-God, please let there be peace on earth. No more fighting, no more wars. Please let all the troops come home to their families.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in a war zone and I can’t imagine what the families at home are going through. But I pray that you will comfort them and give them strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Jesus, I’m in the Navy and my wife is going to have our first baby. I’m so excited to be a dad, but I’m also worried about her being pregnant while I’m deployed.

Please watch over her and the baby and let them both be healthy. I can’t wait to meet my little one, but until then please keep them safe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-God, I pray for all our military leaders. I pray that they would have the wisdom to know when to fight and when to negotiate.

I pray that they would have the courage to stand up for what’s right, even if it’s not popular. And I pray that they would always put the safety of our troops first. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Dear Lord, I just signed up to go to the Marines but I’m afraid of war. I’m afraid of what I might see, and I’m afraid of dying. Please give me the strength to do my duty and protect my fellow Marines.

And please keep us all safe from harm. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Lord, our son is in the Army and he’s just been deployed to Afghanistan. We’re so proud of him but we’re also scared for him. Please watch over him and keep him safe.

And please let him know that we love him and we’re praying for him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Praying for our troops is important, but it’s also important to remember the families of the troops. They are the ones who are left behind, worrying and waiting. So I pray for the families of the troops as well.

I pray that they would have strength and comfort in knowing that their loved ones are risking their lives for our country. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-Dear Jesus, I’m going on a top-secret mission behind enemy lines. Please protect my team and me as we go in. And please give us the strength and courage to complete our mission.

I know that it’s dangerous, but I also know that it’s important. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-There are so many people in the world who are suffering right now because of war. So many innocent people have been killed or wounded. I pray for them all, that they would find comfort in knowing that you are with them.

I also pray for the families of those who have been killed or wounded. I can’t imagine what they’re going through, but I pray that you would give them strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-O Lord, my husband is about to finish his military career soon. I’m so thankful that he will be home with us and that he won’t have to go to war anymore.

But I know that there are still many men and women who are in the military, and I pray for their safety. I also pray for their families, that they would have the strength to wait for their loved ones to come home.

-God, let these prayers for our troops be more than just words. Let them be a force for good in the world.

Help us to remember our troops and their families in our thoughts and prayers every day, and help us to show our support for them in everything we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
