What Christianity Teaches Us? A Quick Guide

Christianity is the largest religion in the world; You can find Christians in every corner of the world.

However, some people do not know the true teachings of Christianity. 

Luckily, the real teachings of Christianity are found in the Bible. 

These are the teachings of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God. 

If you are a young believer or you are looking forward to being a follower of Jesus Christ, here are the teachings of Christianity. 

What Christianity Teaches Us?

Wikipedia states Christianity is a monotheistic religion that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. 

With over 2.4 billion followers, Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah who was prophesied in the Hebrew bible. 

Christianity teaches us a lot of things, but the key lesson we learn is how to become a better person.

These lessons help us become more like Jesus Christ. 

Moreover, the heart of Christianity is love, where we are taught how to love one another, love God, love our enemies, and love our neighbors as we love ourselves. 

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

There are many verses throughout the bible that teach love. 

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. 8 Love never ends.

Romans 13:10 - Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.

Other lessons Christianity Teaches Us

Christianity teaches us to always do the right thing

Even though doing the right thing is difficult, we learn there are benefits of doing the right thing. 

The story of Joseph, son of Jacob, in Genesis chapter 37-50 shows how doing the right thing can be challenging. 

However, when you are guided by God, you become victorious in the end.

Joseph obeys God’s word, does the right things, and it eventually led him to God’s favor. 

The story teaches us that when we face a tough situation, we should turn to God for help. 

By praying to God and consulting the bible, we will learn to do the right thing even when we are facing challenges. 

Christianity teaches us that God’s word is true

John 17:17 - Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

We only found the truth in the word of God, the Bible. 

The bible is the word that was breathed out by God and has no error. 

Through the word, we learn God is one, and they only saved us through Jesus Christ. 

Christianity teaches us that everyone is an image-bearer of God.

According to the Bible, every person, every nationality, and every race were created in the image of God. 

Gen 1:26- Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…..

This means humans were created to take over the earth, replicating the rule of God on the earth. 

Christianity teaches us we desperately need to be rescued from God’s anger.

We are all sinners and our hearts want to glorify ourselves and not God. 

Since we are all lawbreakers, we need to be rescued from God’s anger. 

Romans 9:16 - So then it depends not on human will or exertion,[a] but on God, who has mercy.

Christianity teaches us we must repent and trust our Lord Jesus for salvation.

Jesus Christ is the only law keeper and the only one who can save us from God’s punishment for our sins. 

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Acts 4:12 - And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which they must save us.

Christianity teaches us we need to direct others to Jesus Christ so that they can be saved.

The most loving thing we can do as Christians is to lead others to Jesus Christ so that they can be saved as well. 

Telling others to turn from their sins and pointing them to Christ Jesus is an act of love. 

Acts 3:19 - Repent and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins 

Christianity teaches us that Satan always attempts to distort the truth 

People who do not know Jesus are blind and are in darkness under the control of Satan. 

And now, Christian’s battle is not against human beings but against Satan and the forces of darkness that oppose the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. 

Ephesians 6:10-12 - Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and through his mighty power. 11 Put on all the armor that God gives you so that you will stand up against the Devil’s evil tricks. 12 For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.

Christianity teaches us that even the most hardened sinner is not outside the reach of God’s grace 

The Bible teaches us that the blood of Jesus Christ can save the most sinful person. 

Isaiah 1:18 - The Lord says, Now, let’s settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool.

God’s grace and mercy converted Saul, who was a killer of Christians, even when he was killing innocent Christians. Acts 9.

Christianity teaches us there is hope in Jesus Christ

They teach us that Jesus Christ is our savior and He will come back to judge the living and the dead. 

In the end, believers of Christ and non-believers will bow before Jesus Christ and worship Him. 

Philippians 2:10-11 - And so, in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Christianity teaches us that today is the perfect day of salvation

It is never too late to turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. 

Once you turn to Jesus, you will find rest for your soul. 

2 Corinthians 6:2 - Hear what God says: When the time came for me to show you favor, I heard you; when the day arrived for me to save you, I helped you. Listen! This is the hour to receive God’s favor; today is the day to be saved!

In the summary, God teaches a lot of lessons on how to become better persons here on earth. 

God wants to teach us good morals and values so that we can be like Jesus Christ. 

Therefore, we need to practice what we learn from the Bible.

We should spread the love even to our enemies, and lead more people to salvation.
